THE GOLITHA FALLS LEGEND

The Golitha Falls are an ancient and mystical place, it is said that even now, by the light of a full moon you can glimpse 'Golitha' the Old Man of the woods!
The unusual name is pronounced 'Gol-ee-tha' which derives from the old Cornish word for obstruction. Fowey is pronounced 'Foy-ee'. King Doniert (or Dunrgarth) was one of Cornwall's last Kings, who was drowned while hunting (or fighting!), in the River Fowey at Golitha Falls in the year AD875.

Below is Golitha Falls

How I got started

My interest in Bull Terriers started in the early 80's.
Initially I just went to shows to watch and learn about the breed. Eventually in 1986 I ended up getting my first bully a CH Ghabar Crusader son from Audrey and Gerald Nicholls (Widgery). My second bully in 1987 was a CH Aricon Eye Spy daughter from Eric Stanley (Aricon). I campaigned both these dogs and they did their fair share of winning both at open and championship level.

It was also this year 1987 that I was granted my affix GOLITHA pronounced Gol-ee-tha.

Due to work and family commitments I found I could not devote the time necessary to compete in the show ring so stopped showing. However, I still owned BT’s throughout this time.

After a break from showing of some 15 years I returned to the show scene with a coloured bitch; Conreniam Miss Behavin at Golitha, her achievements include:
CC, BOB &
Best Puppy at Blackpool 2005; Res CC Bournemouth 2005 and competed in the Sandawana Trophy 2005.

She was followed by CH Topfuel Miss Fire at Golitha, her achievements to date include:
At her first show; BIS YBTC June 2006
BB, BOS at the BTC Trophy Open Show 2007; Res CC Three Counties 2007; BOB & Group 3 Bolton Town Show 2007.

Winner of The Raymond Oppenheimer Memorial Claret Jug - Bitch of the Year – 2008; Top Bitch - Bull Terrier Monthly - Bull Terrier of the Year 2008.
